Welcome to the Town of Derry
When moving to a new community you have many questions the Town of Derry website will help with obtaining some of the information you seek. The estimated current population of Derry is 34,000 residents. We have 4 Voting Districts. Please visit our other deparments for further information.
Proof of Residency - You can establish residency by Registering to Vote with the Town Clerk. NH Law requires a new resident within 60 days of moving to New Hampshire to Change their out of state Driver's License to a New Hampshire Driver's license. You must also register your car in New Hampshire at that time.
If you are already a New Hampshire resident and have moved to Derry you may obtain a change of address form from the Tax Collector's office to send to the DMV.
Please bring: Utility Bill, Lease agreement, Notarized letter from owner of property and a photo ID. The Town Clerk's office does not provide proof of residency forms.
Town Sewer & Town Water - If Town Sewer or Water is available in your area please be sure that your name is listed with the Wastewater Department as the new owner.
Trash Removal - The Town of Derry does not have trash removal. There are private companies that provide this service. The Town of Derry has a Transfer station located on Transfer Lane off of Fordway.
Taxi Service - There are two Taxi services in Town
Bus Service - None
Park and Rides - There are two Park and Rides with transportation to Boston. Rte 93 Exit 4 & 5 in Londonderry
