If you plan on getting married in New Hampshire, you may apply at any Town or City Clerk's office. The license is valid in any New Hampshire city or town only.
There are two forms to be completed; the application worksheet and the license must be completed in person and signed by both parties.
Both Bride/ Groom (Persons) should be prepared to provide the following information:
Additional Documents Required: proof of age; a certified copy of a death certificate of spouse, if applicant is widowed; a certified copy of a final divorce or civil union dissolution decree, if the applicant is divorced or their civil union is dissolved; a certified copy of an annulment decree, if the applicant’s previous marriage or civil union was annulled. Fee: $45.00
The license is valid upon issuance for up to 90 days. After your marriage a certified copy may be obtained the fee is $15.00.
No appointment is necessary however the process may take up to 45 minutes please plan accordingly;
Marriage license applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis as follows:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday
Until 3:00 p.m.
Until 6:00 p.m.
