Chief Edward B. Garone announced that the Derry Police Department is distributing firearms safety locks, free of charge, to Derry residents.
The Police Department has joined with Project ChildSafe, a nationwide program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, whose purpose is to promote safe firearms handling and storage practices among all firearms owners through the distribution of key safety education messages and free gun locking devices.
Distribution of the kits will be coordinated by Officer Dan Komenda. Contact Officer Komenda at (603) 432-6111 for further information about the program.
