Captain Bruno Soucy is the facility manager for the Hampstead Road Fire Station. Hampstead Road houses Engine #4, Truck #4, Rescue #4, and Medic #4. This station also has a training room utilized by on-duty companies and the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
Captain Soucy started his fire service career with the Canadian Military in 1988; for two years prior, he served as an Infantry Officer. In 1995, after retirement from the Canadian Military, he began his career with the Derry Fire Department. He is an active member of the Health and Safety Committee since its inception, and has been a member of the Fire Department Honor Guard since 1996. Captain Soucy oversees the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Program for the Department, having served as an SCBA service technician since 1999. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2002 and to Captain in 2005.
Captain Soucy is an Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate, Certified Fire Officer, Hazardous Materials Technician, Airport Firefighter, Certified Fire Inspector, Incident Safety Officer, and Rescue System 1 & 2, as well as several technical rescue disciplines.
Captain Soucy lives in Derry with his wife, Sarah, and their two children Chloe & Tristan. They are involved in Derry community activities.
