Inspector Philip Lavalley has been a Fire Inspector for the Town of Derry for 5 years and was a line firefighter for one year prior to his appointment to the Bureau of Fire Prevention.
He has been affiliated with the fire service since 1968. He was a call firefighter for 28 years and has been an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic for 25 years. In 1978, he attended the NH Fire Academy.
Insp. Lavalley was a member of the U.S. Navy from 1968 -1970. He earned Associates Degrees in Industrial Electricity, Industrial Electronics, and Fire Sciences; and he is presently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection.
Insp. Lavalley joined the Derry Fire Department because he wanted to be part of the best professional fire and ambulance service organization in the area.
He is a long-time resident of this community and enjoys working with the private and public sector.
Insp. Lavalley's hobbies include spending time with his family, theater, outdoor activities, and cooking.
